About Millsaps College

Millsaps College is a private liberal arts college located in Jackson, which is the capital and the most populous city of the US state of Mississippi, as well as one of the 2 county seats of Hinds County (the town of Raymond is the other), housing a number of nearly 174 000 people, within its limits, as estimated during the 2008 census.


The college was established in 1890 and it is recognized as one of the country's best private colleges, dedicated to undergraduate teaching and educating the whole individual. Millsaps offers its students B.A., B.S., M.B.A., B.B.A. and MAcc degrees, as well as corresponding programs, overall, its students having to choose from 33 majors and 34 minors, including the option of a self-designed major, along with a multitude of study abroad and internship opportunities.


Athletics

Millsaps' athletic teams are nicknamed theMillsaps Majors and they compete in the NCAA's Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, for various men's and women's sports. Their distinctive colors are purple and white and their mascot is Mr. Major.
